Autobax, which acquired the global Driveshaft Parts Group at the beginning of 2019, has strengthened its position in the global automotive after-market sector, through the supply and support of driveshaft parts and propshaft and cv joint components.
“As part of the Autobax 50 year milestone last year, the company introduced strategies to extend our product offering, broaden our distribution network and improve our services standards to a growing customer base,” says John Black, managing director, Autobax - part of the Engineering Solutions Group (ESG) business segment of Invicta Holdings Limited. “Our vision as ‘one team, with one vision and one goal’ continues to meet the highest quality and service standards in every aspect of our business.”
The Company
The company’s extensive portfolio of quality-branded automotive parts encompasses timing belts, tensioners, idlers, micro vee belts, oil pumps, timing chain, bearings, seals and allied products - supplied by leading manufacturers, including GATES, MRK, NTN, Europart, STC, Timken and NSK.
Autobax, which has been the preferred GATES service provider locally for over 35 years and the sole country-wide distributor of the GATES range of automotive timing components, is also the exclusive kit packer for Timken products.
This range is enhanced by the addition of driveshaft components, including universal and CV joints, propshaft support bearings and all components relating to the repair of driveshafts and complete shafts. Apart from the in-house Driveshaft Parts trademark, key brands comprise Spicer, Tirsan Kardan and Gewes.
Autobax, with its head office facility in Johannesburg, is supported by branches in Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Durban. The Driveshaft Parts Group has five outlets in South Africa and branches in Poland, Ukraine, Spain and the United Kingdom.
Autobax services passenger cars, light commercial, heavy-duty, off-highway and agricultural vehicles, as well as vehicles for industrial sectors, including steel mills, paper mills and marine.
